Salt sauna 50 °
WITH THE GOLD OF THE ALPS
Salt mining in the Berchtesgaden Alps has been active since the 13th century at the latest and has been of great importance since then. Based on the tradition of salt mining in the Berchtesgadener Land, we have created our salt sauna, the brine mist salt air is said to have many health effects. Thus, inhalation is said to stimulate your respiratory system, reduce inflammation, release blockages and relieve infections. The heating of the salt stones produces negatively charged ions, which are said to have an inhibitory effect on bacteria and viruses. Especially in the treatment of asthma, allergies, bronchitis and colds, the salt sauna is therefore a popular form of therapy.
Finnish sauna 90 °
THE CLASSIC AMONG THE SAUNA VARIANTS
One of the most famous and oldest types of sauna is the Finnish sauna, which not only makes its visitors sweat in the far north: The Finnish sauna has become the most popular type of sauna in many European countries. The Finnish sauna has its origins in Asia, where the ancestors of the Finns built the first steam baths and saunas in the Stone Age. With the migration of peoples, the relaxing sweat bath established itself in the Scandinavian countries and especially in Finland. The functioning of the sauna has hardly changed over thousands of years: Even today, the heated stones of the stove make the occupants of the cabin sweat. Water infusions increase the temperature to up to 100 degrees Celsius with steam bursts caused by the evaporating water. In an infusion, the Finns like to mix a few drops of tar or birch water into the infusion water. In Germany and other countries in Europe, the water is often mixed with essential oils that spread a pleasant scent in the sauna. After the sweat bath, the body is cooled outdoors or under cold water. Afterwards you can relax in the relaxation area. The sauna session in the Finnish sauna can be repeated up to three times. Even today, the Finnish sauna is an important part of the culture in its country of origin.
STEAM BATH 45 °
PLEASANT TEMPERATURES
A warming steam bath is a proven home remedy for various ailments. In the Arab world and Turkey, it is part of the bathing culture. Steam baths already existed in the time of the ancient Romans. Also in the former territory of the Ottoman Empire (such as Turkey or Iran) so-called “hamams” enjoyed great popularity. The bathrooms have different finishes and names all over the world: Fog sauna, sweat lodge, the Russian banya, the Japanese sento or the Austrian caldarium.
In the steam bath, however, there is also water vapor, which increases the humidity in the room. Here you can relax and unwind. As with a sauna session, a cold alternating shower is announced afterwards: you should repeat the change between hot and cold several times. Steam baths can help with many different health problems – also preventive. Because the heat in the steam room is so great, the body activates various mechanisms to cool down: the blood vessels in the skin dilate, the body produces sweat, and lung activity increases.
HERBAL SAUNA 70 °
FRAGRANT RELAXATION
In the herbal sauna there is a particularly gentle and low-stimulus climate to relax and feel good. It is the gentle alternative to the hot, dry Finnish sauna.
In the herbal sauna, water evaporates, which distributes its effect enriched with herbs throughout the sauna room. The spicy scent stimulates the senses, the vapors are a healthy, vitalizing inhalation that has a healing effect on colds and relaxing on nervous states. The water vapor absorbs the herbal active ingredients and distributes them like a cloud of well-being throughout the room. The fresh scents are reminiscent of green meadows and deep forests that stand in full splendor. The herbal sauna is one of the low-temperature saunas, whose heat limit is about 60 °C. The herbal sauna is very well suited as an introduction for sauna newcomers and does not overwhelm the organism. The essential oils unfold their beneficial and sometimes stimulating effect through breathing. We use various herbs such as chamomile, eucalyptus, mint and lavender. Diseases of the respiratory tract are very favorably influenced by this natural remedy. The moderate temperature reduces the loads and also gives the circulatory labile guest a pleasant sauna session.
Bio sauna 55 °
PLEASANT TEMPERATURES
This form of sauna is often referred to in the literature as a low-temperature sauna. Compared to the Finnish sauna, the bio sauna is a gentler variant. As a sauna person, you go through different phases. These alternating consequences of sweating and cooling produce a special health-promoting effect. The variant has become more and more established in recent years. In numerous sauna areas and thermal temples you will also find bio sauna offers. But not only beginners are enthusiastic about the soft variant of sauna walking. Even long-standing and experienced sauna goers appreciate the deep relaxation they experience when visiting the bio sauna.
INFRARED SAUNA & LOUNGERS
WARMTH TO ENJOY
Unlike most sauna variants, there is no heater and water infusions in the infrared sauna. The heat in this sauna is generated by infrared radiation (electromagnetic waves). The temperature is usually between 38-43 °C and thus far below the temperatures in classic Finnish saunas. The visit to an infrared sauna should be between 20 and 30 minutes. As with other sauna variants, the body is purified, blood circulation is promoted, the muscles are relaxed and the immune system is stimulated. Joint complaints and mental tension can also be improved by the infrared sauna. In addition, the infrared radiation penetrates deep into the tissue layers, which is one of the significant differences to superficial sweating in other sauna variants. In the infrared sauna, the heat does not first reach the body via the air, but penetrates directly into it, since the electromagnetic waves of infrared radiation are only converted into heat by the body. The special warmth of the infrared sauna or the radiation also accelerates wound healing, which is why a visit is recommended especially after injuries. In addition, it can have a positive effect on skin diseases.
